Our main character: Thrud, goddess of Strength

I am the Skald, a storyteller of the legendary Aesir Gods of Asgard. I am here to tell of this remarkable tale of the Goddess of Strength.

Ragnarök is upon us. The destruction of the 9 Realms seems inevitable. The All-Father, Odinn, summons the Aesir for a desperate meeting. He tells the Gods of Asgard not to intervene. They will fight, yes, but they must not attempt to prevent it. Thrud, the daughter of Thórr, goddess of strength and thunder, and the new wielder of Mjölnir, disagrees. She believes the gods should do everything in their power to stop the impending doom. Odinn hands the Aesir a contract stating that they will not interfere. Thrud tears it up, causing the gods to panic. Odinn and Frig take Thrud aside, arguing with her until Odinn declares that she will follow the gods in their battles and see for herself how impossible it is to stop. Heimdallr, the God of the Bifrost, is appointed as her trainer, using his all-seeing gifts to guide her. Her father Thórr, her uncle Týr, and the Vanir God Freyr will grant her magical weapons along the way—ones that the dwarves of Nidvillar are eager to enhance.
